Honiton an
East Devon market town, has a great deal to offer its
visitors, - a fascinating history, a lively atmosphere and miles
of country walks for ramblers, to include just a few. Many different pubs and restaurants to cater for all tastes. For centuries
Honiton has been renowned for lace, pottery and glove making and
it still has numerous specialist shops dedicated to both lace and
pottery.
Gittisham is
another of East Devon's best kept secrets. It is a stunning, quiet
village in which the majority of the houses are thatched and life
revolves around the Parish Hall and Church.
Visitors are most welcome to join in the many social activities held in the Parish Hall. Much local history can be discovered in the Parish Church of St Michael's and All Angels, where a Millennium Tapestry designed and sewn by local people can be seen.
